Hoodoo is an African American tradition, carried through enslavement, migration, and silence by people who had every reason to keep it quiet. Hoodoo University exists so that what was passed hand to hand is studied, documented, and practiced with the seriousness it has always deserved — not performed as spectacle.
We run like a small college: departments, leveled modules, faculty, and a working archive. Membership funds the archive; premium demonstration labs fund the filming and the teachers who show the work in full.
Every module names where the practice comes from and who carried it. No anonymous folklore.
Students help build a living archive of oral histories, family recipes, and working notes.
Consent, discretion, and cultural custody are graded coursework, not a footnote.
